Unistrut Brackets Catalogue - Market Update

I'm working on a project in Anaheim, CA involving cable trays and unistruts. My boss, the structural principal at our firm, recently mentioned that we should mention the evaluation report since it's in California. Well, this put a monkey wrench in everything I was doing.

Not only has this... Hi Everyone, Thanks in advance for your valuable time and feedback. A bit of background: I am a junior engineer, fresh out of college, and have been given the opportunity to design a unistrut frame that will carry a ceiling mounted cauterization lab machine weighing 2-tons for a hospital (ref... Unistrut is setup so that local buckling is probably a non-issue.

unistrut brackets catalogue, I certainly don't go out of my way to use unistrut in torsion for primary loads but, for small stuff, I'm sure it works. .unistrut is usually unbraced or lightly braced such that the stuff would be buckling all over the place if it didn't possess some torsional strength and ... I need to support equipment from the underside of a hollowcore precast concrete roof. The vendor must support their equipment from P1000 Unistrut. The Unistrut engineering is by General Contractor.

unistrut brackets catalogue, The General Contractor hired us to do the engineering. I've never sized Unistrut. Does anyone... WE are seeing more and more cases of unistrut type systems fastening sprinkler piping to building structure. If oriented so that piping is not hanging down against the clamp, the shear or slip load limits are small enough so that the piping does not meet the 5X weight of water-filled pipe + 250... I been trying to figure out the strength of a channel shape unistrut bar bolted on a rolling load table, which will be subjected to a concentrated load applied through a ball screw.

Would some one help me get through this? I would also note that unistrut (generic) is NOT listed in any NFPA "tables". So while you see NFPA 13 showing examples of how to determine the section moduls for and angle iron trapeze member, what you are overlooking is what are the limitations of the "table". All I am saying is be careful, think about what you are doing.
